Switch an active filter without removing it first
You filtered for English publications and now want to see the German ones. Until now an active filter’s dropdown showed only the chosen value. You had to remove the language filter to see the other languages and their counts, then pick German. Now you switch directly.
- Other values in the open filter: An active filter’s dropdown lists its other values, each with the number of results you would get by switching to it. The count is not a share of your current results: it answers “how many results would I see if I chose this instead?”
- One step instead of two: Choose another value and the search updates at once. All languages (remove filter) in the same dropdown still removes the filter.
- Active filter marked: When a filter such as Language or Author is active, its dropdown is tinted blue and set in bold.
Long lists stay as they are: when Author, Editor, Series, Journal, Category or Organisation has many entries, the filter keeps its search field and shows no counts. How to filter results is explained in Searching for publications.
