# Search by period, decade or missing publication year

All standards and codes published since March 2020, everything from the 1970s to weed out, or the publications that still lack a year: you now put such searches together right in the search page’s **Period** filter and combine them with the other filters.

Below the filter, **Choose period…** opens a dialog for a date, a period or a decade. One side of a period may stay empty, for “March 2020 onwards”, say. **No year specified** finds the publications that still lack a date.

Search finds a work dated “1985–1992” through its first year, so a filter on 1985 finds it and a filter on 1990 does not. [How search finds a date](/en/docs/grundlagen/veroeffentlichungsdaten#suche) explains more.

The search link carries the filter in the notation of EDTF, an open standard from the Library of Congress. You can bookmark it or send it to your team.
